Less is More

Guest Blogger...Enjoy!

I think it’s important to consider the word of God every day.  Some days though, the reality and trials of modern life seems to take all our attention.  Are we really that busy that we can’t find a moment to think about God?  Or is there something else tempting us to excuse ourselves?  Either way, there are days when we just can’t imagine finding just the right bible verse.

Thankfully, He gave us a simple and perfect prayer that we can always use when we’re lost for words, noting that sometimes less is more.

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen" -  Matthew 6:5-13
